Brainergy, Inc. is an education, healthcare, and life management consulting firm based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. For over a decade we have worked with individuals and corporations, health care providers and government agencies, retirement communities and senior centers, universities and school systems, adult education centers and hospitals promoting optimal brain function, personal growth and psychological development, organizational change, and optimal learning behaviors.

Through presentations, workshops, and custom-tailored training curricula we have helped organizations and individuals understand and experience how to optimize learning potential and how to develop brain wellness protocols based upon numerous findings in brain research and behavioral neuroscience.


Gessner Geyer, MA., Ed.M.

Gessner Geyer is co-founder and president of Brainergy, Inc., an education and healthcare consulting firm based in Cambridge, MA. For over a decade Brainergy has taught individuals and corporations, healthcare providers and retirement communities, schools and universities how brain function affects human behavior and how human behavior affects the brain.

Gessner has presented his work on optimizing learning, brain health, and the development of brain compatible teaching practices before thousands of professionals internationally. He has been a featured speaker in Washington D.C.'s National Cathedral speakers series "Leading Voices in Education" and PBS has called him the "Jack Lalane of the Brain." Gessner is a graduate of Columbia University and holds two Master's degrees from Harvard University, including a degree from the Mind, Brain, and Education program at Harvard's Graduate School of Education. He has been featured in many media outlets and publications, including New Scientist, ABC News, the Public Broadcasting System, Investor's Business Daily, The Boston Globe, Training and Development, and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

Before co-founding Brainergy, Gessner worked as a syndicated TV talk show host for Time Warner Communications in Manhattan, as a business analyst for a Fortune 500 company, and as an award winning Teaching Fellow for Harvard College. At present, Gessner also serves as the Chair of The Education Committee on The Board of Directors of The Cambridge Center of Adult Education, the oldest continuing adult education center in the United States.

A certified teacher of Kundalini Yoga, Gessner's other interests include painting, scuba diving, skiing, sailing and kayaking. He is also the librettist and lyricist for a musical theatre piece, Beneath My Glass. Gessner lives with his wife and two children, who each do their best to keep him cerebrally fit.
