Everyday Tips

  • Wear your watch on the opposite wrist one day each week.

  • Be an explorer.

  • Do one new activity per month. (Visit a junkyard . Buy something.Take it home and make a sculpture out of it. Visit an art museum and look at one object. Sit in front of it and write about what you see for 15 minutes.)

  • Take a new route to the supermarket.

  • Do volunteer work with a generation different than your own.

  • Find out how a frequently used appliance actually works.

  • If you watch T.V., write a one paragraph review of what you watched.

  • Look up three new words in the dictionary and use each of them in a sentence.

  • Use your nondominant hand one day a week for the entire day.

  • Discover things your children or grandchildren have taught you and find ways to thank them.

  • Start a journal.

  • List the ten things you're most proud of accomplishing in your life.

  • Memorize the 5 phone numbers you call most.

  • Try out a game or puzzle book. If you get frustrated, enjoy it.
