Further
Reading
The following reading list comprises some of the non-periodical literature
referred to in the workshops we provide. All of these books should be
easy to find and most are accessible to the general reader.
I have left out the denser neuroscientific research, but you should be
able to find plenty of neuroscience in this list if you are so inclined.
Marian Diamond's, Magic Trees of the Mind is probably the
best volume for an educator with a burgeoning interest in the relationship
between brain function and learning. But as you delve into the reading
you will find that one theme holds true as a prevailing throughline.
Optimal learning, optimal aging, emotional health, personal meaning-making,
and wisdom-building all arise from an active, compassionate engagement
of human experience.
Feel free to email me if
you have any questions about these materials.
